Belville Jubilee Event
Mens Prayer Group Praise & Worship and Healing Service
3 June
Our Jubilee Event in June was arranged by the Men’s Prayer Group and commenced with Praise and Worship followed by a Healing Service.
In bringing the Word Fr Nkululeko Qokolo first focused on the Gospel of John 15 : 9 – 12. God is the source of love. He gave us his Son because he loves us. As He loves us we should love him and keep his Commandments. The love that He has for his Son He has for us.
Then in Luke’s Gospel Jesus’ love is denoted. The parable of the Prodigal Son exemplifies the model father with his open hands, arms and heart. Jesus’ arms are open for us. The most valuable gift Jesus gives us is His presence which is everywhere.
One of the men in the Prayer Group then gave a testimony. Growing up in an unstable home led to him not leading a balanced life. Along the way he was introduced to Catholicism and appreciated its structure. Marriage and family followed, but also retrenchment. A priest suggested that he join the Men’s Prayer Group and through it was offered a job. Being in the Group gave him the confidence to deliver his testimony.
On entering the church everyone was given a stone and candle. We now had to inhale and then exhale negative energy into the stone repeatedly. The lit candles were then placed on a cross and the stones, with the negative energy, were placed on the floor. Before photos were taken of the cross the stones were removed and then buried.
Thereafter whoever wanted healing was prayed over by the prayer warriors. While this was underway a calming atmosphere was created by the singing and instrumental music.
